Election of Researchers as Members of the Science Sections of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova: Bibliometric, Managerial and Ethical Perspective

Abstract: The article analyzes the process of selecting researchers for the science sections of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The selection criteria, compliance of the conduct of this exercise with the regulations in force and existing practices are investigated. The research includes establishing the scientific performance of the candidates, the results of the confirmation of scientific titles and the approval of the right to conduct doctorates on scientific profiles. The analysis highlights the lack of clear criteria in the selection of scientific profiles, a procedure carried out with violations of regulatory provisions and good practices, which is reflected in the representativeness of the elected members. The author puts forward recommendations to improve the selection mechanism to ensure the transparency and fairness of the entire selection process.
