Morphological Issues on the Reflexogenic Zone of the Ascending Aorta

Intellectus, 2025, issue 1, 188-193
Abstract:
The article presents the results of morphological research on the existence of the reflexogenic zone at the level of the fat pad of the ascending aorta. Structures similar to the carotid glomus are described, the location of which suggests their сhemoreceptor function. The neurovascular complexes existing at the same level, the description of which is missing in the literature, are also presented.
Keywords: ascending aorta; aortic fat pad; reflexogenic zone; glomuses; nerve endings; vasa vasorum internae. (search for similar items in EconPapers)
