Abstract:
This paper provides a look into a collaborative approach to parent philanthropy in higher education, using guidance and examples from experienced parent programmes and fundraising professionals. Parents of students enrolled at institutions of higher learning are a new and high capacity population who can make a great philanthropic impact in higher education. The paper discusses aspects of both parent programming and parent fundraising that must be implemented in order to successfully engage parents in institutional philanthropy.
