A Note on Walter Block’s Defending the Undefendable

Robert P. Murphy

American Journal of Economics and Sociology, 2006, vol. 65, issue 2, 463-467

Abstract: Abstract. Walter Block’s amusing and popular Defending the Undefendable offers an intentionally shocking collection of short chapters, each praising a different “rogue” of modern society—including the pimp, slumlord, and corrupt cop—from a libertarian viewpoint. However, Block’s defense of the “heroic” counterfeiter is based on faulty economic analysis and is hence completely unwarranted.
