A threaded‐file retrieval system

Abstract:
A program used for the search and retrieval of technical data in documents from the library of one organization is described in detail. Numbers, letters, and placement “tied” similar word‐names and ideas together. The requestor, using weights and parameters in addition to “uniterms,” quickly received only the most pertinent documents. The flexibility of this program should make it valuable for many purposes, not necessarily purely documentary.
