KWOC indexes and vocabulary comparisons of summaries of LC and DC classification schedules

Abstract: KWOC indexes based on summaries of the Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal classification schedules were prepared and the keyword vocabularies assembled in a side‐by‐side comparison. The indexes and the vocabulary comparison are briefly described and evaluated; significant differences in vocabulary are observed. The project serves as a demonstration of one method of examining editorial bias.
