Journal of the American Society for Information Science, 1979, vol. 30, issue 3, 154-160
Abstract:
This article reports on a survey of the financial aspects of special libraries and information centers in American industrial companies. The objectives of this survey were to assess resources allocated to information centers, pricing behavior and cost behavior for such centers, and to obtain an indication of the accounting practices of such centers. Data on 41 characteristics were obtained from 87 centers in the Fortune 500 companies. The results of the data analysis are discussed and compared to other pertinent investigations of this type.
