Improving keyword indexing

Abstract: This communication examines some of the most frequently cited criticisms of keyword indexing. These criticisms include (1) absence of general subject headings, (2) limited entry points, and (3) irrelevant indexing. Some solutions are suggested to meet these criticisms.
