Journal of the American Society for Information Science, 1994, vol. 45, issue 10, 753-759
Abstract:
Technological innovations have been a mixed blessing for people with disabilities: they can provide a means of achieving equity, or a further barrier between them and the information explosion. This article explores how people with disabilities use computer technology, as well as the issues involved in using this technology to access electronically published materials. Information is also provided on how libraries can move toward making their computing environments maximally usable by all patrons, regardless of ability. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
