Redeploying resources

Abstract:
In pursuing integration strategies for information technology, Information Services (IS) at the University of Maryland at Baltimore functions as an umbrella organization, including Computing, the Health Sciences Library, and Telecommunications. All three areas had previously worked independently and had separate missions and budgets. Restructuring has made it possible to address cost‐containment cuts and, more importantly, to reengineer the way business is done. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
