Abstract:
This article discusses the insights gained from of a series of observations of cross‐functional planning teams in a wide variety of enterprises. These observations involved over 2,000 participants in 100 planning efforts over a period of 6 years. These efforts focused on planning of new products or processes, development of strategic business plans, and consensus building around planned organizational changes.
