SPECIALIZATION, WAGE BARGAINING AND TECHNOLOGY IN A MULTIGOODS GROWTH MODEL

Abstract: This paper develops the Ricardian multigoods model in several directions with a view to studying the relationship between the technology gap, the pattern of specialization and the institutional framework that organizes technological learning and wage bargaining. The interaction between the technology gap and relative real wages endogenously defines the pattern of specialization, which is related to economic growth through the condition of equilibrium in current account (external constraint).
