Abstract:
The task of medical statistics. After stressing the ethicaf necessity that efficient use be made of data obtained from experiments on human beings, examples are given of the application of statistical methods in some medical experiments. The statistician can help the research worker not only in applying tests of significance, but also in making the design of an experiment. The possible development of medical statistics at the Dutch universities in the coming years is described.
