Abstract:
Education and intelligence according to tests of conscripts. All Netherlands conscripts are subjected to five psychological tests. The test results for a sample of approx. 2000 conscripts have been split up according to school education received, and first and second moments were calculated. While different levels of education are accompanied by significantly different average test results, the variance within each group is still very large. Principal component analysis indicated a preponderant “general level” factor and a small “technical bias” factor. No single school type produces boys of modest “general level” but good “technical bias”.
