Abstract:
A development model for India A model for the economic development of India in the 1960—1970 period is described from the statistical point of view. The model contains 13 sectors, each with their specific products for which balance‐equations are set up. Input‐output and capital‐output relations connect the sectors. Agricultural output is linked to the use of fertilizer, irrigation and advice. Consumption in 1970 is maximized within 35 constraints. The paper winds up with a discussion of the effects of statistical uncertainties, and of possible improvements of the model.
