Abstract: Some remarks on the design of clinical trials of cancer chemotherapeutic agents. After a general introduction on the aim of clinical trials, some factors are discussed, which are of special importance in clinical trials of cancer chemotherapeutic agents. The effects of these agents on specified tumor types should be compared concurrently with those of placebos in equivalent groups of patients.
