Abstract: When no scale is available, it is hardly possible to come to a well‐founded judgment on the basis of evaluations of immeasurable characteristics. A description is given of an investigation from the results of which a scale (of photographs) is prepared of the immeasurable characteristics by means of the method of paired comparisons.
