Abstract:
An introduction is given into the most important concepts and terms of computers. Basic constructions, storage, arithmetic units, control, input and output, levels of storage, speeds. Modern concepts, multiprogramming, concurrent programming. The importance of software is stressed and a few examples of programming languages are given. Fortran, ALGOL, LISP.
