Abstract: Application of the ratio‐delay method. The ratio‐delay method affords a much quicker insight in the relation between direct‐productive and indirect‐productive times of a group of machines than the classical time study method. Especially with cyclical and a‐cyclical work the ratio‐delay method is the most efficient and sometimes the only means to obtain a justified rate at short notice. This also holds for serial piece‐production. Much attention will have to be paid to improving and accelerating ratio‐delay methods.
