Assessing international diversification of West German corporations

Abstract:
While product diversity has primarily attracted strategic management scholars, this paper examines the performance of corporate international diversification from a market point of view. The results indicate that in a highly industrialized, but relatively small, West German market, companies going abroad create shareholder wealth.
