Abstract: This article defines economic principles of efficient use and protection of land for forestry purposes, its main constituents. State of the use of such lands were analyzed by the example of Poltava region and determined its structure by types of owners and users. The author gives conclusions about the presence of preconditions to improve the mechanism to ensure effective use and protection of land for forestry purposes of Poltava region.
