Abstract:
This paper deals with the current state of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). To resolve the issue on economic evaluation of soil purification from POPs it has been encouraged to use one of the most promising methods of ecological-economic analysis — CostBenefit Analysis (CBA). Approaches that are used during CBA in the world practice have been considered, and can also be used to evaluate remediation measures. Four main stages of the ecological and economic remediation — ecological assessment of the site contamination level, environmental risks determination, economic cost-benefit analysis, as well as choice of method on the contaminated soil remediation — have been given in this paper.
