Abstract: Screening studies of the level of contamination of the soil and agricultural products with obsolete pesticides was carried out. Soil of sanitary zones of old warehouses of pesticides and agricultural products grown in the surrounding farmland were investigated in Vinnitsa region. As it has been shown obsolete pesticides can contaminate vegetable products therefore act in a food chain and pose a threat to living organisms. Therefore, despite long-standing soil contamination of sanitary zones of pesticides warehouses required a comprehensive study of contamination of soil on surrounding territories. Further measures to tackle the problem of pesticide contamination of the environment are the introduction of agro-technical and biological methods of cleaning soil from residues of persistent pesticides and their metabolites. Further measures to tackle the problem of pesticide contamination of the environment are the introduction of of environmentally friendly and cost-effective agro-technical and biological methods of cleaning soil from residues of persistent pesticides and their metabolites. Taken measures can to prevent the migration of xenobiotics from soil to agricultural products and protect humans and the environment from unintended consequences.
