Abstract: This paper is dedicated to peculiarities of changes in baseline climatic parameters in Western Ukraine in the context of growth of greenhouse gas emissions. The results of long-term observations of the essential climate indices on the territory of Rivne region are given. The causes and possible consequences of irreversible abrupt climate changes are analyzed. Climate warming as a factor of influence on soil environment has been considered. The study authors have proved the presence of changes in the basic elements of the climate in the region (air temperature, temperature of the soil in the plow layer, precipitation, amounts of active and effective temperatures) and performed a comparative analysis with global climate shifts.
