Abstract:
This paper deals with analysis of the environmental, forest and land legislation of Ukraine concerning the criteria for the division of forests into categories. Foreign experience in identifying such categories as the forest and other lands, and the characteristics by FAO, as well as the Forest Supervisory Board, has been discovered. It is proved that to achieve the goal of creating an ecological network in Ukraine, it is expedient to synchronize mechanisms for determining forests with priority environmental functions
