Abstract: This paper deals with place of Kyiv region in the ranking of regions of Ukraine by indicators of sustainable development, designed by the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development. The author gives Ukraine’s place in the international rankings. The way of global direction of development on the basis of a balanced combination of economic, environmental and social components were selected as reference points for development of the Kyiv region in the near future
