Abstract:
Sustainable innovation capacity is not only necessary for the survival of industrial firms but also for service firms. By analyzing a sample of tax accountant firms it can be shown how innovations can successfully be managed: It is decisive to gain new and better knowledge through collaboration, to handle the unavoidable conflicts constructively, and to acquire a general capacity for coordinating unusual tasks. An innovation-friendly firm culture provides a helpful background comprising a readiness for change, good working conditions, the identification with transparent goals, and a trusting atmosphere among the colleagues.
