Abstract:
Employees who are made redundant by company restructurings place particular demands on labour market counselling and support. On the one hand these workers are attributed as highly employable because of their close work experience; on the other hand psycho-social stress factors due to the job loss impede gaining new employment. The article examines on a quantitative basis the management behaviour of employers in times of crisis as an explanatory variable for the effectiveness of labour market counselling. The result is that a lack of procedural justice and interactive fairness of middle-level management increases the burden of job loss and obstructs the access to labour market advisory services.
