Abstract: This contribution offers an insight into the labor market situation of lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in leadership positions that is rarely researched. Based on data of the socio-economic panel (SOEP), descriptive distributions (industry sector, firm size, working time) offer an overview of the labor market situation of people in leadership positions by sexual orientation and gender. Further, the data of an online survey (LGBielefeld 2019) with 571 lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in leadership positions were used to examine discrimination, disclosure, affective well-being, and life satisfaction. The results show that lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in leadership positions face discrimination in the labor market and are not always able to talk openly about their sexual orientation at the workplace. Further, discrimination in the working life and the disclosure of sexual orientation at the workplace do affect life satisfaction and some parts of affective well-being.
