Abstract: Using insights based on the entrepreneurial cognition perspective, we develop a conceptual model to explain the evolution of entrepreneurial growth intentions under the influence of venture cognitive logics (causation versus effectuation) and entrepreneurial cognitive style (analytic versus holistic). Our model finds preliminary support based on qualitative data from an exploratory field study of a select group of entrepreneurs, interviewed in three waves over a 5-year timeframe.
