Abstract:
This note discusses the implications of deadlocks in the European Union in the light of the evolution of EU institutions during and after the recent economic crisis. We highlight the challenge of avoiding deadlocks without resorting to the expulsion threat. The need to accelerate “convergence in institutions” among the Union members emerges.
