Abstract:
Even though governing regimes of post-Soviet Central Asia talk about secular character of local society, Islam has returned to this part of the world. Its significance is increasing and in process of its revival, people are confronted with its moderate as well as radical form. Post-Soviet Central Asian republics have not so far found a way to utilize Islam in its complexity for a positive development of society. The article analyzes important aspects, which are significant in searching for this regulatory function of Islam. By comparison of past and present state the conclusion is that this Asian region will keep facing Islam as a part of political life.
