Almanach (Actual Issues in World Economics and Politics), 2019, vol. 14, issue 3, 30-43 Abstract: Conventional arms trade is an important pillar of the United States' foreign policy, through which the country strengthens its power, gains allies, exploits the economic benefits of being the major exporter, and influences the development of the international scene. There are several factors that can affect the form and direction of foreign policy, including the personality of the President, the development of national and international armed conflicts, political affiliation, and other. The aim of the article is to provide a comprehensive view on foreign trade and conventional arms policy during the administration of the current President Donald Trump using the synthesis and analysis method. The analysis is focused on individual target regions and types of exported weapons and supplemented by a comparison of the Trump administration policy with that of its predecessor Barack H. Obama.
