Abstract:
Historically, the Central Asian region is an Islamic region in which political elites are still looking for an appropriate way to maintain its moderate and controllable form. Governments of Central Asian states are spending a lot of effort to prevent expansion of its radicalization and thus undermining political stability and security in the region. In the article we analyze the importance of Islam in Central Asia at different times and the consequences of its influence. By comparing the facts, we conclude that Islam is an integral part of the political system of the Central Asian states, and the degree of radicalization depends on the economic and political stability of the region.
