Abstract:
Central Europe has more than 30 years of independence, during which time the region has achieved various successes as well as failures. The aim of the paper is to look at the Visegrad Four as a specific type of regional cooperation. The main goal of this study is to define the foundations on which the cooperation of the Visegrad Four has been built over the last almost 30 years. With a focus on a form of promoting security cooperation in terms of soft and hard security. The main methods used in the study are qualitative, which help us to understand the social phenomena of cooperation between countries on the example of V4 through analysis and comparison, which bring contextual and subjective accuracy. Finally, the analysis shows that during ongoing cooperation, we see that the illusion of success is declining due to the problems posed by the various threats that affect the security and stability of Central Europe and thus the cooperation of the Visegrad Four itself.
