Abstract: The current political and security situation in Iran is relatively unstable. In connection with political instability, we decided to examine the political environment of Iran through the analysis of selected political factors (risks). The aim of the paper is to characterize the individual selected political risks of Iran through a qualitative analysis, to describe their development from 1995 to 2018 and by comparing the coefficients of selected risks, to identify their weight. The results of our research suggest that the greatest political risk in Iran is the democratic accountability, which signals the very low responsibility of the Iranian government towards its population.
