Abstract:
The aim of this study is to define the basic types of the so called quasi-diplomatic representations of states, namely liasion offices, interests sections and consular offices, which can serve as an alternative to diplomatic missions in case of non-existence of diplomatic relations among states and, at the same time, to identify potential advantages and disadvantages of their use in practice. It is concluded that neither type of quasi-diplomatic representation is the „best“ or „worst“ in its use in comparision with the other ones in practice, because each has its specific atribute that makes it the most effective in a concrete situation.
