Abstract: The aim of the paper is to outline the selected issues of multipolarity creation process in the international relations in the 21st century. After the sudden and unexpected breakdown of bipolarity, the US's exceptional position in international relations was not ready to solve new problems. Potential centers of strength in the 21st century multipolarity are the US, the PRC, the EU and the RF. Creating a new multipolarity has no rules yet and will be different from the multipolarity of the European Great Power Concert in the 19th century. This will be a complex and contradictory process in the longer term.
