Abstract:
We provide a conceptual definition of environmental innovation. We analyze two distinctive features of environmental innovations ? the public nature and the intangibility of environmental benefits ? versus conventional innovations applied to agro-food systems. We stress that this background has an influence on adoption process and requires an adapted theoretical framework.
