Abstract:
This article analyzes the steps of the expansion of tourism in Cuba, from its origins to the current period (first part) ; the main characteristics of this sector today, through an international comparison within Latin America and the Caribbean, and a presentation of its singularities, structures and recent evolutions (second part) ; and the difficulties of the Cuban touristic sector, as well as the challenges in terms of development for the years to come (third part).
