Abstract:
This paper offers several solutions to face widespread unemployment in France. First, our educational system has to be reformed to reduce the high proportion of dropouts. Second, firms? mandatory financial participation to the professional development of its workers has to be abrogated because of its discouraging effects, especially for small firms. Finally, the French labor market has to be made more flexible through, for example, the creation of an occupational social security and a single employment contract.
