Abstract: In dem Beitrag wird einerseits geprüft, welche Bedeutung die Gaswirtschaft für eine sichere, ausreichende, kostengünstige und umweltschonende Energiebedarfsdeckung hat. Andererseits wird versucht, das Gewicht zu ermitteln, das die Gaswirtschaft hinsichtlich der Wertschöpfung, als Investor sowie bei der Schaffung von Arbeitsplätzen und Einkommen, als Steuerzahler und bezüglich des Devisenbedarfs für Importe hat.
