Südkorea: baldige Überwindung der Rezession

Abstract: Die konjunkturellen Aussichten Südkoreas für 1998 sind selbst dann sehr ungünstig, wenn man unterstellt, daß die Regierung den Reformprozeß forciert und die Finanzmärkte den Won wieder etwas realistischer bewerten. Nachdem das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt 1997 noch um 5,5% gewachsen ist, wird es 1998 (je nach prognistizierender Institution unterschiedlich stark) schrumpfen. Für 1999 wird allgemein wieder eine expandierende Wirtschaftsleistung und eine Verlangsamung des Preisanstiegs erwartet. Die Arbeitslosenquote, die 1997 noch bei 2,6% lag, dürfte sich 1998 mindestens verdoppeln, für 1999 schwanken die Prognosen zwischen 7% (Bank of Korea) und 3,4% (IWF).
