Abstract: Weltweit existiert kein Telekommunikationsmarkt, der schneller wächst als der chinesische. Jeder siebte Handy-Benutzer lebt in der VR China, aber mit 1,5 Mobiltelefonen je 100 Einwohner wird lediglich ein Zehntel des US-amerikanischen Wertes erreicht. Die strenge staatliche Regulierung, der Wettbewerb zwischen unterschiedlichen Technologien und massive Verteilungskämpfe zwischen den Unternehmen machen den wachstumsträchtigen chinesischen Telekommunikationsmarkt allerdings vor allem für ausländische Unternehmen zu einem ebenso schwierigen wie risikoreichen Schauplatz.
