Abstract: Liebe Leser, ein Abschied aus dem Amt ist zwar, wie ich gelernt habe, ein mehrstufiger Prozess mit einer Vielzahl verschiedener Veranstaltungen, doch Ende März 2016 höre ich nun wirklich auf, nach 17 Jahren Arbeit für das ifo Institut und die CESifo GmbH, 25 Jahren für das Center for Economic Studies (CES), bald 32 Jahren für die volkswirtschaftliche Fakultät und 83 Semestern Lehre an verschiedenen Universitäten.
