General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade

Abstract: The tenth session of the 35 contracting parties to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) was held at Geneva from October 27 to December 3, 1955, under the chairmanship of Mr. L. Dana Wilgress (Canada). An agenda was considered of questions relating to 1) items arising out of the operation of GATT, including items falling under the complaints procedures, 2) tariffs and tariff negotiations, 3) administrative barriers to trade, 4) commodity problems, 5) surplus disposal, 6) the accession of Japan, and 7) the administration of GATT.
