ANZUS Pacific Security Pact

Anonymous

International Organization, 1962, vol. 16, issue 3, 634-635

Abstract: The ANZUS Council met on May 8–9, 1962, in Canberra, Australia. The ministers expressed their concern at the Soviet refusal to end thermonuclear testing. The ministers of Australia and New Zealand recognized that the absence of such an agreement left the United States with no alternative but to conduct the current series of tests.
