Abstract: The fifth session of the Trusteeship Council was held at Lake Success from June 15 to July 22, 1949, with Roger Garreau (France), president of the Council, presiding, and Luis Padilla Nervo (Mexico) serving as vice-president. The president was elected by a vote of 9 to 3 and the vice-president by a vote of 10 to 2 on June 16.
