Strategic Management in Citizenship Construction: A Commitment to Peace and Diversity

Abstract: This study proposes a strategic approach to strengthen citizenship building in rural contexts through an educational proposal focused on peace, coexistence, and the recognition of cultural diversity. It stems from the need to transform administrative school management into an Ethical Roadmap capable of addressing the biopsychosocial needs of students affected by emotional deprivation and family or social conflicts. Using a socio-critical paradigm and action research methodology, the study involved 80 students and 20 educational leaders, including administrators and teachers. Data was collected through social mapping, field notes, and socio-emotional rubrics, in cycles of diagnosis, planning, and reflective observation. The findings demonstrate that the intervention allowed participants to recognize the Peace Education program as an effective space for mediation: 85% of participants valued its contribution, while physical and verbal aggression, initially present in 70% of cases, decreased. Furthermore, school management has moved towards a participatory model, sensitive to the local worldview and the pedagogy of otherness. In conclusion, the school can become a democratic laboratory for forming critical, resilient, ethical citizens committed to recognizing others as subjects of rights and participation.
