Abstract: The purpose of the article was: To analyze the strategic processes of knowledge management in private university institutions. Based on: León et al. (2006), Basáñez (2012), Rodríguez (2016), among others. The research was positivist, with a quantitative method, applied and descriptive, with a field design, non-experimental, cross-sectional. The population was 9 authorities from the Cecilio Acosta National University and the Dr. José Gregorio Hernández Private University. The instrument, a 15-item questionnaire, Likert scale. The reliability achieved by Cronbach's Alpha, obtaining 0.94, very highly reliable. Descriptive statistics, a measure of central tendency and variability measures were applied. The results that the strategic processes of knowledge management are present with their indicators; Identification, Generation, Distribution and Use of Knowledge. It is concluded that there is an applicability of the four indicators, seeking to improve competitiveness and increase the database of university educational institutions.
